The Shepherd's Rest is a cosy Shepherd's hut, reminiscent of the huts shepherds would shelter in while tending to their flock of sheep. The Shepherd's Rest is suitable for a maximum of 2 adults - sorry no children allowed. The hut is separate from our home & has a view looking out over neighbouring farmland & the Kakanui Ranges.
It's a tiny space and a little like glamping but with the luxury of electricity.
It has a queen size bed with fairy lights above to create a bit of magic!
There is a kitchenette with mini-fridge, electric jug, toaster, 2 ring cooker, rice cooker, pots, pans, cutlery and crockery plus table and chairs for dining. Gas Barbecue outside.
The ensuite bathroom contains a shower, vanity and Bambooloo composting toilet.
Take a soak in the gas heated OUTDOOR BATHTUB.
Relax outside in the Cape Cod chairs with a glass of wine or venture out at night for a bit of star-gazing.
Say hello and feed our curious ALPACA & SHEEP.
We provide linen, towels, fluffy bathrobes and toiletries.
There are boardgames to keep you entertained.
Note there is NO WIFI - it's digital detox time!!
For an additional fee you can also participate in the 4pm Farm Tour. Enquire at time of booking. Advance notice is required as not always available.
You can still sleep in the hut over the winter months. It has an electric heater plus spare blankets.
STRICTLY NON-SMOKING/VAPING and NO PETS ALLOWED.
The Shepherds Rest is self-catering so remember to bring your own food for meals.
Or better still enjoy a meal cooked in one of Oamaru's many restaurants and cafes.
